Kyle Pearson is a minor league baseball pitcher. He last played in the Detroit Tigers organization. The Pittsburgh Pirates drafted Pearson straight out of high school in the fourth round and assigned him the Gulf Coast Pirates in Bradenton, Florida. In his first year as a pitcher Pearson appeared in 7 games, going 3-2 with a 2.08 ERA. In 2004 Pearson returned to the GCL Pirates, but appeared in only one game, surrendering six earned runs over three innings. In 2005 the Pirates promoted Pearson to the single-A Hickory Crawdads of the South Atlantic League. Amid a mediocre year for the Crawdads Pearson went 2-10 with an ERA of 6.10. By the end of the year Pearson was shifted to a relief role and notched his first save. Pearson returned to the Crawdads in 2006 as a starter and went 3-4 with an ERA of 5.46. Shifted to the Williamsport Crosscutters in mid-season, he again went 3-4, with a lowered ERA of 3.92. The start of the 2007 season found Pearson back with the Crawdads as a relief pitcher, where he 1-3 with a 3.43 ERA in 23 appearances before being promoted to the Lynchburg Hillcats.
