John Teerlinck is a former American football player. He now is a defensive linemen coach for the Indianapolis Colts. John Teerlinck is widely regarded as the greatest defensive line coach of all time, with 27 years of NFL experience. Teerlinck has coached 32 playoff games, including six Championship games and four Superbowls. Teerlinck earned three Superbowls rings with two teams. As a pass rush specialist, Teerlinck coached 31 Pro Bowl players including four defensive MVPs: Michael Dean Perry, Chris Doleman, John Randle, and Dwight Freeney. Both Doleman and Randle have been enshrined in the NFL Hall of Fame. In 2010, Teerlinck became only the 9th assistant coach selected to present John Randle at the Hall of Fame Induction. With four different teams, John Teerlinck either set the record or came in second in total sacks, historically. In his tenure, Teerlinck coached seven players to reach 100 career sacks, the ultimate benchmark for a defensive lineman.
