Michael Madanly is a Syrian basketball player who led the 2007 FIBA Asian championship in scoring with 33.1 points per game. He is best known for being one of the best Syrian and Asian players of all time. He was raised in Al-Jalaa Club in Syria, one of the most prestigious Arab basketball clubs. He played for a few years with Al-Jeish Club in Syria but was transferred to Al-Jalaa once again, where he achieved a lot. In late 2011, he signed a 4-month contract with Foshan Club in China because of the current political situation that was preventing the Syrian Basketball league to start.
