Fabian Hamb�chen is a German gymnast. He lives in Wetzlar. Hamb�chen was the youngest German athlete at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens and finished seventh in the horizontal bar and eighth in the team competition. So far in his career, he has won nine medals at World championships and eleven at European Championships. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, he won the bronze medal in the horizontal bar. In 2007 he was named the German Sportspersonality of the Year. Hamb�chen had to pull out of the 2009 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships due to an injury to his foot. He was a frontrunner for the all around title and the high bar. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London he qualified for the finals in all-round, horizontal bar and team competitions and won a silver medal in the horizontal bar. At the 2013 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, Hamb�chen finished third in the all-around, and seventh on floor. On horizontal bar, he scored 15.933 to win a silver medal.
