Ramona Africa was one of the MOVE members in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is best remembered for a tragedy that happened May 13, 1985. Wilson Goode, mayor in Philadelphia during this time, along with the city commissioner and the S.W.A.T. team bombed the house Ramona Africa took over. This bombing killed all 6 adult M.O.V.E. members, and 5 child, the resulting fire destroyed six city blocks. Ramona Africa was arrested during this time and released during the mid 1990s.
