Laura Jane Amanda White is an English singer/songwriter from Atherton in Bolton, Greater Manchester. She is best known for finishing in eighth place on the fifth series of The X Factor in 2008. In early 2010, White was the special guest of the Peter Andre tour. White's debut single "You Should Have Known" was released and reached number two on the UK Indie Charts and reached number fourteen in the official iTunes chart. In 2011, White confirmed that her debut album would be released in 2013. In September 2013, White confirmed her debut extended play would be released, entitled What My Mother Taught Me.
