Romy Kermer married name �sterreich is a German pair skater and figure skating coach. With Rolf �sterreich, she is the 1976 Olympic silver medalist. Romy Kermer began skating in Karl-Marx-Stadt and became a pair skater already there. Her first partner was Tassilo Thierbach. 1972 she moved to Berlin and skated there at the club SC Dynamo Berlin. Her coach was Heidemarie Seiner-Walther. However she still skated for the club SC Karl-Marx-Stadt until 1973 before she changed the club as well. Her pair skating partner was Rolf �sterreich since. Romy Kermer and Rolf �sterreich won the silver medal at the Winter Olympics 1976 in Innsbruck. After their figure skating career they married each other. Romy �sterreich is now figure skating coach at the club SC Berlin. One of her students Philipp Tischendorf won the bronze medal at the Junior Grand Prix 2005 in Bratislava. www.eklscberlin.arcgraph.de
