Samuel Morin is a Canadian ice hockey defenceman. He is currently playing with the Rimouski Oceanic of the QMJHL. He was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1st round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He was born in Lac-Beauport, Quebec, but grew up in Saint-Henri in Bellechasse, Quebec. Morin began his major junior hockey career in 2011 playing with the Rimouski Oceanic of the QMJHL. He was rewarded for his outstanding first year play by being selected to the 2011?12 QMJHL All-Rookie Team. On September 17, 2013, Morin signed a three-year entry level contract with the Flyers, but was returned to his junior team, the Rimouski Oceanic, to play the 2013?14 season in the QMJHL.
