Robert Gerald Lorge is an American lawyer and politician. He is Managing Partner of Lorge & Lorge Law Firm. Lorge was the 2006 Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in Wisconsin, running against the incumbent Democrat Herb Kohl. Kohl won the election with almost 70% of the vote. Lorge previously was the Republican nominee for Wisconsin Secretary of State in 2002 and was a candidate for the United States Senate in 2004. Lorge is pro-life, opposed to gun control, and supports border protection. He opposes capital punishment. Lorge agrees with the mainstream Republican party in that he is pro-life, anti-gun control and for border protection. However, due to his many years of practicing law, he opposes capital punishment. Lorge is credited with being the original author of the plan adopted by Democrat U. S. Senator Joe Biden's 2007 Presidential Campaign to divide Iraq into 3 to 5 provinces in order to achieve peace and stability amongst the Kurds in Kurdistan, the Sunnis in the Sunni Triangle and the Shiite majority in the south, as well as a trans-Saudi-Jordanian nation in the Anbar province region and making the Baghdad metro area into a separate state. [More at Wikipedia]
