Adam Tooze is a British historian and was Reader in Modern European Economic History at the University of Cambridge. In 2002, he was awarded a Philip Leverhulme Prize for Modern History. As of Summer 2014, he is a professor of history at Yale University. After graduating in economics from Cambridge, Tooze studied at FU Berlin before moving to LSE for a doctorate in economic history. He is currently best known for his economic study of the Third Reich, The Wages of Destruction, which was one of the winners of the Wolfson History Prize for 2006.
